Speed test – Huawei E156G with and without antenna
I bought Huawei E156G High Gain Magnetic Mount Antenna. If you want to know if aerial is only crap this article will show you speed test with and without antenna.
I made two speed tests: first used on-line SpeedTest, second used wget. I reconnected between each test – both between turning on / off antenna connector and changing on-line to wget speed test.
Environment
- Operating system: Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic.
- Mobile: Poland / Play Online.
- Area: hilly with forests.
- Connection: UMTS HSPDA
- Antenna – technical specification:

- Operating Frequencies: GSM900, GSM1800, 3G UMTS

- USB Stick: Huawei E156G

Benchmark
On-line SpeedTest – using benchmark on www.speedtest.pl site, with selected server from Warsaw. I made two separate tests for each connection.

WGET speed test – download about 2MB from Debian ISO file and check average speed.
